The Minnesota State Patrol, Kanabec County Sheriff's Office, Mora Fire Department, and a Firstlight Ambulance responded to a crash at 9:05 pm on December 22nd that resulted in the death of a 22-year-old man on Highway 65 near Peace Township in Kanabec County.
The crash involved a 2001 Hyundai Tiburon driven by an unnamed 17-year-old and a 1999 GMC Sierra driven by Kaleb Charles Swenson, age 16.
From the official report: "The GMC Sierra was southbound on Highway 65; the Hyundai was northbound. The Hyundai attempted to turn left across the southbound lane onto 278th and was struck by the GMC."
The 17-year-old in the GMC is being treated at North Memorial Medical Center.
