Recently, the Pine City School district received a hefty donation from a former student.
In total, $45,000 was donated to the district through the estate of a Pine City graduate. Pine City Superintendent Annette Freiheit said the district is still considering what to do with the new funds but has some ideas.
“The donor loved to read so probably looking at adding books to our school libraries. Services that we provide for our kids, possibly having a fund to help field trip costs or any of those kinds of things."
The district accepted that donation at the beginning of June.
"There's a lot of things we could do with it, but we're making sure it stays as close to the kids as we possibly can have it," added Freiheit.
