Baseball
The Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars ran into a very good pitcher Thursday afternoon at Chaska Athletic Park that ended their chance for a State Championship in baseball as the Jaguars fell to Sleepy Eye 6-0.
Avery Stevens no-hit Hinckley-Finlayson giving up just one walk in 7 innings. The Sleepy Eye pitcher was absolutely dominant, striking out 15 of the 22 batters he faced.
Travis Visser pitched almost as well for Hinckley-Finlayson, but one bad inning was the demise of the Jaguars. Hinckley-Finlayson gave up 6 runs in the fourth inning in their loss to Sleepy Eye.
Hinckley-Finlayson will now have to do what they did in basketball and that is go for the consolation championship. They will take on Rushford-Peterson today at 12:30 at the Mini Met in Jordan.
The game will be broadcasted on 106.5 FM/AM 1350 and wcmpradio.com
