Hinckley-Finlayson Public Schools are holding a book drive through the month of October.
The program was created after the school district received a grant to help improve literacy in the district.
"One thing we want to do is to insure that teachers have just really good and full classroom libraries," said Anna Salo of Hinkley-Finlayson Public Schools.
The goal of these libraries is to help kids apply reading skills they learn in the classroom by providing them with books they will enjoy reading outside of the classroom.
This is the first year that the district is doing this book drive, but Salo hopes that they can make it a yearly event.
There are drop off sites in both the Hinckley and Finlayson Elementary schools as well as the school district office.
