The Pine County 4-H is holding their first ever Expo this Saturday in Hinckley.
The expo will be a time for youth and their parents to go and ask questions and learn what the organization is about from those who participate in 4-H.
Shawna Nelson said, "The 4-H expo is an opportunity for the general public to come in and find out what 4-H has to offer inside and outside of livestock."
Nelson and her sister Wendy have both been in the program for four years. Both show livestock as well as other exhibits.
4-H was initially founded in 1902 as a way to involve youth in practical, hands-on learning. In its early years, the organization focused on agriculture but has grown to include a wide range of subjects.
Frank Moyer, the 4-H Coordinator for Pine County, said, "Over the years 4-H has developed not only to be an 'ag' club but we also have kids who are doing robots, rockets, cooking, preserving food, and all of this other stuff in addition to animal projects."
Saturday's event will also give kids who are interested in joining a chance to sign up too.
The event will be held from 9 am to 3 pm at the Hinckley Community Center on Saturday, February 2nd.
