Two construction workers are alive after the hole they were digging collapsed around them.
On Tuesday, June 18, Pine County 911 received a call at 4:35 p.m. about an accident on a construction site on Edgewater Rd NE in Pine City.
According to a press release, the caller reported that two workers were in a hole when it partially collapsed around them. Initial information said the workers were twelve feet below the ground and the that they were buried up to their chests.
Deputies along with Pine City Fire, Pine EMS, Essentia ambulance, and North Memorial Air Car were dispatched to the scene.
Both workers were able to be removed from the hole in less than twenty minutes and taken to to the hospital for evaluation of their injuries.
The investigation will be handed over to OSHA for follow up.
