The following is a press release from the Pine County Sheriff's Office following a string of car thefts earlier this week.
"The PCSO is asking residents in the Askov, Sandstone and Duxbury areas to make sure their cars and homes are locked, and to check their properties to see if they are missing any vehicles or have had an overnight break in. The PCSO has taken eight motor vehicle theft reports in this area in the past 14 hours, along with a burglary where the home was unlocked and the residents were asleep upstairs while the suspects stole keys and personal items from the home.
The PCSO has located seven of the stolen vehicles and have made one arrest in connection to this crime spree. The PCSO believes there are three suspects at large in connection to this crime spree. At this time, the PCSO does not need the public's help locating these suspects, but do ask the public to call if they see or have seen anything suspicious in the area in the last 24 hours.
The PCSO is still currently looking for a 2014 Silver Dodge Charger MN plate 161UBB. Please call Dispatch at 320-629-8380 to make any reports or to give info regarding the cases mentioned."
