#3 seeded North Branch played Pequot Lakes last night in the first round of the state volleyball tournament.
Pequot Lakes made it close in the first set, but North Branch would find their stride and swept the Patriots 3-0. The Vikings won the first set 25-20, second set 25-11, and the third set 25-18. The Vikings will move on to the second round, where they will face Belle Plaine. Belle Plaine got the upset win over #2 Marshall 3-1, in the first round. If the Vikings get the win over Belle Plaine, they will face the winner of #1 Stewartville and #5 Concordia Academy Roseville in the championship game on Saturday.
