North Branch played Stewartville in the state championship game today.
North Branch looking to repeat as state champs had yet another back and forth game. The Vikings won set one 25-20. Stewartville would win set two 25-19 and set three 25-16. North Branch would not back down they came back and won set four 25-23 to bring on the final set. The Vikings had momentum to begin the fifth set, but a Tiger timeout would prove to be the strategic leverage that Stewartville needed. The Tigers would win set five 15-12 to become state champions. North Branch doesn’t go home empty handed they are awarded the second place trophy and medals.
North Branch will graduate eight players from their team: Kylie Kline, Galytea Pierce, Cianna Selbitschka, Emily Benedict, Katie Anderson, Kristi Pilz, Haley Hadrava, and Macy Brodin. North Branch finishes with a 29-5 record.
