The Chisago County Sheriff's Office says that a house fire has claimed the life of K9 Kyro.
Law enforcement reports that the fire occurred Monday afternoon in the Nessel Township at the home of Chisago County Deputy Nate Fisher, Kyro's handler.
Deputy Fisher and his family were not home at the time of the incident; however, K9 Kyro and two of the family's other dogs died as a result of the blaze.
The K9 was reportedly escorted by Chisago County deputies, along with many local agencies, to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital in Arden Hills, where he is being prepared for a proper goodbye.
