Dragons Dominant in Conference Victory

The Lady Dragons of Pine City welcomed in conference foe Mille Lacs last night.

The Dragons wasted no time getting on the board as Kloey Lind scored first. And that would set the tone for the Dragons on offense in the 1st half. Pine City scored quick and in a hurry, and their offense was complimented by their defense. Their defense was suffocating the Raiders offense, which lead to Pine City creating many turnovers and turning those into points. The Dragons defense would not allow a single point until 11 minutes through the half, and held a 29-0 lead. As the 1st half came to a close the Dragons had built on their lead and were up 45-5.

In the 2nd half the Raiders were able to find more breathing room on offense and watched more of their shots falls. But Pine City was still able to build on their halftime lead, and by the halfway point of the 2nd half they were able to get their younger players onto the court. The Dragons would walk away with a 61-18 victory. Ella Sell and Kloey Lind finished the game with 14 points, Summer Thieman scored 13 and Karly Jusczak scored 10. With the win they remain undefeated in conference play. Pine City improves to 6-3 on the season and will host rival and Great River Conference opponent Rush City on Thursday. Mille Lacs falls to 3-5 on the season and will host Upsala on Thursday.
