Dragons Notch Conference Win Over Isle

The Pine City boys basketball team played host to the Isle Huskies last night.

The Dragons got on the board very quickly and never looked back. They played a fast paced game in the first half and built up a good lead. Pine City’s shots were falling from everywhere. Towards the end of the first half, the Dragons fast paced game started to work against them. Shots weren’t falling and Isle capitalized on Pine City turnovers. The Huskies started to mount a comeback before the buzzer sounded to end the half. Despite the Huskies run to end the half, the Dragons still had a 21 point lead going into the second half. Pine City came out of halftime and could not miss. The Dragons played great defense, allowing only 14 points in the final half of play. Pine City pulled their starters in the middle of the 2nd, and the bench players finished out the game strong. Pine City cruised to a win 73-36. After the game Head Coach Kyle Allen said they use their team depth to their advantage and to replenish their players.
