Pine City's tennis team is young but that hasn't stopped them from achieving their goals.
Pine City's boys tennis team season got off to a rocky start. Losing 3 of their first 4 matchups. But they have been on a tear since, going 13-3 since the beginning of the season. They have had wins against North Branch, Mora, Hibbing, Minnehaha Academy, and many other big name tennis teams. In their most recent game, they faced off against Foley. Going into that game, Foley only had two losses on the season. The Dragons come out firing on all cylinders and were able to grab the victory 5-2. With that win the Dragons captured the Granite Ridge Conference title! Head Coach John Eberhart said, "This was our the best all around performance of the year."
The Dragons season isn't over yet. They'll host Princeton today and travel to Foley on Saturday for a tennis tournament, then travel up to Virginia to wrap up the regular season.
