Dragons Tennis Preform well on the Road

Pine City Girls tennis Head Coach Kristin Unverzagt with another tennis update from August 24th action!

The Dragon tennis team had another great day in St. Cloud. The individual scores were sent via tennis reporting.

We kicked off the day with a great battle with St. Cloud Tech. All doubles points went to a tie breaker and were hard fought matches. Our singles players came determined and it showed in their play as well. They came ready to play and started strong.

Our second match was against Pequot Lakes who will now be in both our section and conference. This was a big win for us and our team played very strong. It is great to see the girls improve each time they step on the court. Their movement and shot selection demonstrated smart play in their matches.

We wrapped up the day playing 8 game pro sets, rather than 2 out of 3 sets, due to the heat. We battled hard against Cambridge with a final score of 5-2.

It was exciting to mix up line ups and see different possibilities and potential of this team. The greatest advantage of the pre-season matches is the opportunity to try different line ups and combinations. Our girls are also working hard and showing stamina as we already have 9 matches in and three to go tomorrow.

We host White Bear Lake, Minnehaha Academy, and Princeton tomorrow. We will begin match play at 8AM at PCHS.
