Dragons Tennis Sweeps Home Quad on Friday

Tennis update from Friday, from Head Coach Kristin Unverzagt.

It was another great day for the Dragons! We went 3-0 beating White Bear Lake, Minnehaha Academy, and Princeton.

We started the day with a tight 4-3 win over White Bear Lake. The three points we lost were in close tie breakers. The team battled hard and came ready to play. Our singles were strong, earning a victory at 1, 2, and 3 singles. Our first doubles came to play with their aggressive style earning a strong win.

In the second round, we played Minnehaha Academy and won with a 5-2 victory. Our strong net play dominated the doubles as we swept all three points. Brooke and Lena also used smart singles strategy to set up points and gain two wins. Ella and Addison fell short but battled hard against two outstanding players.

For the final round, we had a 7-0 victory over Princeton. The girls finished the day strong, focused on keeping their energy up, and were driven to finish strong. I was proud of the girls as they played 6 tough matches in two days.

As we look ahead to next week, we will host Becker on Tuesday and travel to North Branch on Thursday. The girls are utilizing the pre-season matches to help prepare to meet their goals for a strong season. I am so proud of their determination and efforts. They are a great group of young ladies who enjoy working hard and being together. This is what will contribute to our team's success this season.
