East Central Energy Proposes Development for Broadband Business

Braham has received a request from East Central Energy to purchase four lots in the city’s industrial park.

ECE is proposing to build a 25,000-square-foot building. They estimate that 20 to 30 jobs would be created with this development.

Last year, the energy cooperative was awarded $15 million in broadband grants, and this facility would be used to support its broadband business.

The four lots sit on just shy of 10 acres. One of the lots is home to Braham’s compost site, which will close with the sale of the property.

The city’s planning commission approved two resolutions for the project on March 16. A special City Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 28.
