East Central Regional Library closes branches Saturday after phone calls about bomb threat

East Central Regional Library closed all of its branches on Saturday after a bomb threat was called in to multiple locations on Friday evening.

According to the library system, staff at multiple libraries contacted law enforcement and cleared buildings after receiving phone calls about the threat.

An update from ECRL states that the threats did not specify a branch, and authorities were contacted at all locations.

All ECRL branches were closed on Jan. 6 while the credibility of the threat was determined.

The library system is continuing to work with law enforcement to identify the parties behind the threats.

Branches opened as scheduled on Monday morning.
