The Minnesota Department of Agriculture confirmed the presence of emerald ash borer in Pine County on Tuesday.
According to an MDA news release, EAB infestations were found along Highway 70 in Rock Creek.
The MDA will enact an emergency quarantine in Pine County to limit the movement of firewood, mulch, and ash material out of the infected area.
The public can comment on the proposed quarantine through April 12. The MDA has recommended adopting the quarantine on April 15.
A virtual information meeting will be held on the MDA website at 10 a.m. on March 7.
