FAA investigating June 18 plane crash in Burnett County

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating a Burnett County plane crash on June 18.


According to a news release from the Burnett County Sheriff's Office, dispatch received a call about a plane crashing into Mudhen Lake in Daniels Township around 3:17 p.m.


It was reported that one occupant exited the plane, and was on a pontoon operated by a Good Samaritan.


Authorities determined that the pilot, 79-year-old Hudson, Wisconsin, resident Craig Johnson, was the only occupant of the plane. He was not injured in the crash.


The Siren Fire Department, North Ambulance, and Burnett County Emergency Management assisted at the scene.
