Firefighters battled a large wildland fire near Danbury, Wisconsin, on Monday.
According to Burnett County Sheriff Tracy Finch, 10 fire departments responded to the blaze, which she said has burned about 59 acres.
"The DNR is still up there on site, and probably will be for a couple of days," Finch said in Tuesday's sheriff's report on WCMP.
Finch said one structure — a shop on someone's property — was destroyed in the fire, but crews were able to save two primary structures and two secondary structures.
"We had Danbury Fire, Webster, Scott, Webb Lake, Dairyland, Wascott, Frederic, Grantsburg, Duxbury, and Minong fire departments all there," Finch said. "We had DNR from Webster and Grantsburg there, Northwest Electric was on scene, and the state patrol was on scene."
Finch called the fire response a "large-scale production," and commended the crews for their efforts in battling the blaze.
"I'm extremely proud of the community we live in," Finch said. "These firefighters are volunteers, and they do a fabulous job."
