Gov. Evers Orders Non-Essential Businesses to Close

Starting Tuesday, non-essential businesses in Wisconsin have been ordered to close by Governor Tony Evers.

In a post to social media, Gov. Evers said, "Workers providing essential care or services in our communities will be allowed to continue to travel to and from work. That includes folks like healthcare professionals, grocers, family caregivers, among other people whose work is critical for folks across our state."

This comes after Evers ordered K-12 schools to close as a continued attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19 and continue to "flatten the curve."

The Governor also urged residents to stay inside unless absolutely necessary.

As the AP points out, these tighter restrictions mirror nearby states.
