Two Great River Conference foes battled it out in Pine City last night.
Pine City 64
Pine City quickly jumped out to a 6-0 lead. But just as quick as they built the lead, the Bombers worked to go on a 6-0 run to tie the game at 6. Shortly after tying the game Ellie Hasz scored underneath the basket. That basket was her 2,000th career point! But after the celebration of her career milestone, it was back to work for both teams. It was a back and forth game, when one team scored the other answered with a score of their own. It was a close game till the last few minutes in the first half, when the Dragons offense got in rhythm. Pine City was able to build a 33-19 lead at halftime. After the half the Dragons started right where they left off, on fire. They quickly worked to build up a 20 point lead over the Bombers. And sooner than later the lead grew to 30 points for Pine City. Despite being down by a large margin, the Bombers never gave up. In fact they went on a 14-3 run to end the game. The Dragons would grab the victory 64-42.
With the win the Dragons improve to 14-1, the Bombers fall to 10-5 with the loss.
