Hinckley-Finlayson Schools Moves to Distance Learning

Following multiple confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Hinckley Finlayson School District, students will be moving to distance learning until at least Friday, October 2.

Hinckley-Finlayson Superintendent Rob Prater hopes to be back in person by Monday, October 5, but other factors will affect the decision.

"We would hope to be open in person," Prater told WCMP. "To be honest, the [Pine] county numbers are going up. We're going to have to make that decision for October 5 based on numbers that come in on October 1."

Contact tracing is underway within the district. They say that they are reaching out to anyone who had close contact with a person who tested positive and hope to have that done by today.

Prater also asks for parents who haven't yet, to contact the district office about school lunch and technology drop-offs via school buses. If parents or students have followup questions, they can call the high school office at 320-384-6132 or e-mail Mandy Hartl at mhartl@isd2165.org

All schools within the Hinckley-Finlayson district will start distance learning on Thursday, September 24.
