The Hinckley-Finlayson school district has announced that students will be returning to school in a hybrid learning model later this week.
As of last week, COVID-19 cases in Pine County have reached 41.5 per 10,000 residents.
Distance Learning for Hinckley Finlayson will continue until Thursday, Oct. 8 where students will start the hybrid model.
All students have been split into an "A" group and a "B" group - "A" group students will have in-person classes on Mondays and Tuesdays, and "B" group students will have in-person classes on Thursdays and Fridays. The district says that it will stay in the hybrid model until at least Friday, Oct. 30.
In a letter to Parents, Superintendent Rob Prater said that for students to return to full-time in-person learning, some things would need to happen both locally and county-wide.
"We will need to see overall cases in Pine County, per 10,000 residents lowered, and see that our quarantine and distance measures are working."
Hinckley Finlayson's target return date is Monday, Nov. 2.
