Hinckley-Finlayson superintendent: Everyone safe after track bus fire

A Hinckley-Finlayson school bus fire on Tuesday night did not result in any injuries.

According to district superintendent Brian Masterson, the bus was on the way back from a track and field meet in Rush City.

All of the students, coaches, and the bus driver are safe after the blaze. The Hinckley Fire Department and Pine County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident.

"Hinckley-Finlayson would like to thank the coaches, the bus driver, the Pine County Sheriff's office and the Hinckley Fire Department for their quick response in making sure everyone was safe," Masterson wrote in an email.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

"We are continuing to gather details of what led to the fire," Masterson wrote.

Masterson said the district has support available for the students and staff who were involved in the fire.

"We are grateful for all the support of the community," Masterson wrote.
