An Iowa man was sentenced to 12 years in prison on Monday in Pine County Court after pleading guilty to one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a minor in May.
Richard Peacock was arrested on Jan. 6 on a warrant out of Pine County in relation to a sexual assault of a minor case in Hinckley.
According to the criminal complaint, Pine County Sheriff’s Office deputies received a report of an incident of sexual assault of an 11-year-old girl on Dec. 21, 2024.
The complaint states that the minor began corresponding with a man identified as Richard Peacock on Discord, identifying herself as being 11 years old. Peacock said he was 27.
The minor reported that they agreed to meet in person the week of Dec. 16.
She told her parents she’d be staying at a friend’s house in Quamba, and was picked up by Peacock near the address. He drove the minor to a hotel room after going to a movie.
The complaint states that Peacock removed the minor's clothing, took explicit photos of her on his phone, and inappropriately touched her.
A felony count of kidnapping was dismissed in the plea deal.
