Lady Dragons Grab Two More Wins

Head Coach Ted Hasz recaps the Dragons 2-0 week.


Dragons are now 17-1 after two more wins.


Pine City 83

Braham 39


The Dragons moved to 9-0 in Great River Conference play with an impressive home performance against the Bombers. After a bit of a sluggish start, Pine City got things rolling with some smothering defense. They went on a huge run the second part of the first half to take a big halftime lead. The Dragons scored 21 points on fastbreaks and 26 points off turnovers. "The girls played very aggressive defense which led to some easy baskets." The Dragons had four players score in double figures and 9 players were in the scoring column. Lily Wilson had a double double with 20 points, 10 assists and 6 steals. Ellie Hasz had 20 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Sophie Lahti had 14 points and 4 rebounds. Kloey LInd had 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Ashley Faur had 5 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals. Meredith Kolling had 5 points 3 rebounds and 3 blocks. Karly Jusczak had 3 points. Alaina Steele had 2 points, 4 assists and 3 steals. Ally Chromey had 2 points. "It was another good conference win for the kids." "The kids played some great basketball."

Foley 46


The Falcons from Foley came out ready to play and gave the Dragons all they wanted in the first half and for the first time this season Pine City trailed at the half. Foley led 29-26. The Dragons were able to regroup and make a few adjustments at the half and came out and dominated the second half, leading by as many as 16. "The kids came out very focused in the second half and played the way they can." "We need to give Foley a lot of credit as they have a nice team and did some things to get us out of rhythm." Kudos to our kids for fighting through adversity and getting the job done against a quality section opponent." Lily Wilson led the Dragons in scoring with 16 points to go along with 3 assists and 4 steals. Alaina Steele had 11 points 3 rebounds and 5 steals. Ellie Hasz had a double double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Sophie Lahti had 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Meredith Kolling had 7 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. Ashley Faur had 5 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals.
