Lady Jags Grab a Win at Home

Hinckley-Finlayson hosted the Hill City/Northland Storm last night.

The game got off to a bit of a slow start for the Jaguars, and the Storm seemed to have everything going their way. Though only trailing 8-4 Jags Head Coach Rob Witter called a timeout, which proved to turn the tide in their favor. After the timeout Hinckley-Finlayson was firing on all cylinders. The offense used precision passing to find the a lane to the basket, and even when they weren't driving to the basket the shots were falling from everywhere. Their defense was just as impressive, they stole the ball 18 times in the 1st half! From the time they trailed by four to the end of the 1st half, the Jaguars went on an dominate 33-11 run leading 37-19 at half.

As the 2nd half began, the Storm had made adjustments and started to put the pressure on the Jags. The Storm were able to grab a couple steals of their own and turn them into points. It didn't take long for Hinckley-Finlayson to get back on track and find the net. Though they didn't take the ball away as much as they did in the 1st half the Jags still had 6 steals in the 2nd half. Bella Brant and Makayla Ammerman had a very good 2nd half as well with Ammerman providing 8 points and Brant 6. They both also added several steals and rebounds in the 2nd half to help propel their team to victory. The Jaguars got the win 62-46.

With the win Hinckley-Finlayson moves to 8-13 on the season and will host Mora tonight.
