From the Pine County Sheriff's Office:
On September 1 st at 04:20 am Pine County deputies were dispatched to an address on Mid River Rd for a suspicious male. The caller reported a male in the yard who would not leave and was threatening to kill people.
Deputies arrived and made contact with the suspect who was uncooperative with them. The suspect fled from deputies in a vehicle after tearing up the yard of the caller's property. The pursuit went to the freeway before proceeding west on Pokegama Lake Rd. The suspect stopped just east of the city of Grasston and fled into a cornfield. A Pine County K-9 unit had been called out to assist in locating the suspect. The suspect went in and out of the cornfield several times before fleeing into it further. The suspect was seen with a knife as he fled.
Deputies attempted to get the suspect to come out of the cornfield on his own but he refused. The K-9 officer proceeded into the cornfield where they encountered the suspect who still had the knife. Further negotiations with the suspect to drop the knife did not work and the K-9 was deployed to apprehend the suspect. The suspect did attempt to stab the K-9 but was subdued by the deputies and taken into custody while the K-9 held on. The suspect was evaluated by ambulance before being transported to the Pine County jail. A deputy who received minor injuries was treated as well.
The suspect is identified as Corey Christopher Isaacson, age 44, of Minneapolis, remains in the Pine County Jail after formal charges were filed by the Pine County Attorney’s Office.
