The Polk County Wisconsin Sheriff's Office is investigating after shots were fired during an altercation with a man in Burnett County.
According to a Burnett County press release, responders were called to the Village of Grantsburg early Sunday morning with the report of a man lying in the road.
Law enforcement says that the man became combative with EMS and reportedly pointed a firearm at responders. The Grantsburg Fire Department was able to get the man to surrender the weapon before deputies could arrive.
The man reportedly left to go to his residence. When law enforcement arrived, he emerged from his home with another gun.
The Burnett County Sheriff's Office says that shots were fired, and the suspect was taken into custody and transported to the hospital.
No one was reported to be seriously injured.
