The Isanti County man charged with the murder of 32-year-old Amanda Jo Vangrinsven entered a petition to plead guilty earlier this month.
Richard Peterson was charged with second-degree murder and felony interference with a dead body or scene of death after Vangrinsven's body was discovered in 2021.
Peterson entered the petition on February 2. In the plea, he could face nearly 24 years in prison with the second charge being dropped.
In August 2021, Vangrinsven had been missing for several days after being spotted leaving a bar with a man later identified as Peterson. Her body was later found on Peterson's property in Isanti County.
Peterson was scheduled for a plea hearing on February 13, with a jury trial following.
No sentencing date has been set.
