Dragon Girls Tennis Head Coach Kristen Unverzagt gives us a look at some pre season matchups went for her squad.
The girls tennis season is off to a fun start with our first day of match play in St. Peter. The pres-season matches are a good opportunity to try different line ups and gain experience. The girls have high goals to build off of from last season. Our goal is to improve each time we step on the court and they did that with each match. The varsity played at Gustavus Adolphus College and the JV was at St. Peter High School. Both teams worked hard and had fun.
We fell short to St. James, 2-5 and individual scores will be sent via tennis reporting once they are entered by St. James.
We battled St. Peter in the second round but fell short with a 3-4 loss.
Our final match was against Blue Earth where we pulled out a 4-3 win.
Individual scores for the St. Peter and Blue Earth match have already been sent via tennis reporting.
We had our players in a mix of singles and doubles for each match. This was a good day to figure out combinations and how we can strongly compete in the upcoming section and conference matches. We look forward to hosting Bemidji, Litchfield, and Mounds Park Academy on Monday.
