Pine City Heritage Players announce 2025-2026 season; celebrate 20 years since revival

The Pine City Heritage Players have announced their upcoming 2025-2026 season, celebrating 20 years since the revival of the community theater group.

The season will kick off with a Songs of the Stage musical revue, featuring duets and ensemble performances of Broadway favorites, on Saturday, Feb. 21, hosted at the Pine City Pizza Pub.

Auditions for the "Let's Duet" revue are scheduled for Dec. 21.

On March 21, the Heritage Players will host a one-night-only event, titled, "Encore: A 20 Year Celebration."

According to a press release from the Heritage Players, the event will highlight the history of the organization with performances from past shows, a look at costumes and set pieces, and archival photos and recordings.

The Heritage Players will round out the 2025-2026 season with the Dolly Parton classic "9 to 5," based on the 1980 movie of the same name. The comedy — with music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick — will come to Pine City in July through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).

The activities are made possible through a grant from the East Central Regional Arts Council.

Information about auditions, tickets, and volunteer opportunities will be available ahead of each show on the Heritage Players website.

The non-profit community organization draws participation from the Pine City, Rush City, North Branch, Cambridge, Isanti, Braham, Mora, Hinckley, and Grantsburg communities.
