Pine City Trap Shoot Update

Here's a Dragon trap shooting update from George Johnson from this past Sunday!

For the first time this season Pine City High School Trap shooters enjoyed blue skies and sunshine on the trap range. Though the wind was a factor, shooters did not have to deal with the rain, snow, strong gusts of wind, and freezing temperatures of past weeks.  Sunday’s shoot was reserve week for the team, with scores being used in the event of any cancelations or in case tiebreakers are needed.  Top gun for the Dragons was junior Nate Burns, who shot two rounds of 24 and 20 for a total score of 44.  Fellow junior Ryan Carl was close on his heels with a 39, followed by a pair of 38 ‘s from freshmen Evan Benolken and sophomore Evan Doenz.  Kaeden Oquist, another freshman, shot a 36, followed by senior Ethan Doenz and sophomore Blake Zemek with 35’s.  Junior Macie Babolik with 31 and freshman Jennavieve Hallan with 29 led the girls’ team.  Next Sunday, Dragon shooters will begin five weeks of competitive shooting.
