Pine Co. School Supply Drive Begins

Pine County has started its annual school supply drive.

The drive is competition between the staff of the County Jail and Sheriff's Office with the goal of benefitting area children.

"Ultimately, it's the kids that win," Sheriff Jeff Nelson told WCMP.

After having a school year during the pandemic, Nelson hopes this supply drive can help kids get back to normal.

Supply drop-offs can be done at the Sheriff’s Offices in Sandstone and Hinckley as well as the courthouse in Pine City. They just ask that you denote who "which team you are on" so they can be tallied for the Jail or Sheriff's office.

All supplies raised will go to support students in Pine County, and they will be distributed among its school districts.

Supplies can be dropped off through August 25.
