Pine County seeks public input on hazard mitigation plan update

wcmpnews

Pine County is seeking public input as it updates its hazard mitigation plan.

The plan covers all of Pine County, including cities and townships, and assesses natural hazards that pose a risk to the area, including tornadoes, blizzards, flooding, and wildfires.

A planning team made up of representatives from county departments, local municipalities, and other stakeholders will spearhead the updating efforts.

Comments or concerns regarding natural disasters can be submitted to Pine County Emergency Management.

A draft of the plan will be made publicly available before it’s submitted to the state for approval.

The hazard mitigation plan is mandated to be updated every five years.
