Pine County Sheriff's Office responds to potential jumper on Snake River bridge

The Pine County Sheriff’s Office responded to a potential suicide attempt in Pine City on Monday afternoon.


According to a press release, dispatch received a report about a male party standing on the top rail of the Snake River bridge just before 4:30 p.m.


The reporter expressed concerns that he was going to jump.


The male party made comments about not wanting to live when deputies arrived and initiated a conversation.


After about 30 minutes, the man agreed to get down from the railing. He was transported to Essentia Hospital for further evaluation.


The Mille Lacs Tribal police, Pine City Fire Department, and Essentia Ambulance provided assistance at the scene.
