The Pine County Sheriff's Office has recovered the remains of a missing Pine County man.
According to a news release, the search and rescue team responded to the Nemadji search area on Monday morning to follow up on drone data and located the remains of 86-year-old Gerald Knapp.
The St. Louis County Rescue Squad aided in the recovery mission.
Knapp was reported missing on Feb. 1, having last been seen on Jan. 28 leaving Askov southbound on County Road 142.
His vehicle had been located in northeast Pine County.
The Pine County Sheriff's Office shares its condolences with Knapp's family and friends.
