Press release from the North Branch Police Department:
This (Friday) evening at approximately 7:34 pm, we received a call of 20 people fighting in the North Branch Outlets parking lot. While we were en route we were further advised that shots had now been fired. Our partners at the Chisago County Sheriff's Office responded to assist us with the incident.
One of our officers arrived and made contact with a vehicle matching the description of one the suspect vehicles. During the course of the investigation, the officer was advised that the driver has a permit to carry in Minnesota and has a pistol in the center console.
While the officer was checking the firearm they found a spent pistol casing on the driver floorboard. The driver did admit to being the one to fire.
The driver has been arrested and booked into the Chisago County Jail for reckless discharge of a firearm.
