Tigers Remain Unbeaten in Conference Play After Win Over Bombers

Braham hosted Rush City in a Great River Conference matchup Monday night.

Though still very early in the season this game felt like a must win for both teams to keep their hopes alive for a shot at the Great River Conference title.

The first was even, both teams came out strong looking to make their impression on the game. It stayed close through the end of the set but the Tigers were able to get the points they needed to close out set one with a win 25-19.

Set two was similar to the first, as one team would take the lead the other would come back and tie it and take a lead of their own. It never felt like either team truly got into a rhythm, and momentum was never fully leaning on one side. But again late in the 2nd set Rush City was able to pull away just enough for the set victory 25-18.

Preparing for the third set, it felt as if one team could take momentum they would almost certainly win the set. And that's just what Rush City did. The momentum hanging in the air was finally theirs and they never looked back. They jumped out to a 5-0 lead before Braham could get on the board. But it didn't take long before it was a 20-5 lead for the Tigers and it looked all but over. The Bombers had one more chance at it, and they continued to fight and grind their way back. Unfortunately, they would not overcome the large deficit and fell in set 3 25-12.

With the win Rush City remains undefeated on the season and in the conference. They will host East Central on Tuesday night to try and protect that undefeated mark.

For Braham they fall to 3-4 on the season, this is still a team to keep a close eye on especially with how hard they battle. They'll be in Hill City Tuesday night.
