UFO Sighting Reported in Sandstone

Sandstone, Minn. seemed to be a recent hotbed of activity after a resident claimed to have a close encounter with extraterrestrials.

The Pine County Sheriff's Office said the dispatch received a call claiming to have spotted a UFO over their field. Unfortunately, the caller was only able to say their last name before the call went fuzzy and cut out. WCMP was unable to confirm if the call was blocked by potential visitors to Earth.

During this week's Sheriff's Report, Sheriff Jeff Nelson doubted the validity of the call, but he did say, with a tinge of sarcasm, that they would investigate if they receive a report of someone "going for a ride in a spaceship."

According to a 2019 article from Insider, around 6000 UFO sightings were reported between 2010 and 2019. Minnesota residents reported over 100 UFOs in 2019, including sightings reported in Mora, Rock Creek, and Pine City.

In 2014, Vox reported that many sightings occur between 5 p.m. and midnight, which happens to coincide with prime drinking hours.
