Vehicle drives into Braham's Hometown Liquor Store; driver not injured, building secured after interior sustains 'significant damage'

Braham's Hometown Liquor Store will be closed until Monday, March 16 after a vehicle drove into the building on Saturday afternoon.


According to a news release from the Braham Police Department, a personal injury accident was reported at the liquor store just after 1:30 p.m.


Braham's police and fire departments responded to the scene and located a vehicle inside the building, with a male driver still stuck in the vehicle.


The release states that emergency crews pulled the vehicle from the store to access the driver, who was assessed by Allina Ambulance personnel and released at the scene with no injuries.


No evidence of driver impairment was observed. The vehicle was impounded to Leaf’s Towing due to significant damage.


According to the release, the vehicle caused damage to the exterior doors, an interior wall and interior exit door, checkout counter, and merchandise displays within the store.


The interior of the building sustained "substantial damage" in the incident.


Two employees sustained minor injuries due to flying debris during the incident, and neither requested medical care at the scene.


The police department states that the building has been secured.
