Walz Loosens COVID Restrictions for Bar, Restaurants

Today, Gov. Tim Walz announced his next measures to loosen COVID-19 restrictions.

Now, bars and restaurants will be able to offer indoor dining again at 50 percent capacity (150 people max), and entertainment venues like movie theaters and museums will be able to reopen at 25 percent capacity after closing again late last year. Dine-in services must end by 10 p.m.

Gyms and other outdoor entertainment venues will remain capped at 25 percent.

Small weddings and other private parties may continue with gatherings from two families allowed if indoors and three families if outdoors.

The new order is set to take effect Monday.
