Girls Basketball
The Pine City Dragons and the Rush City Tigers are very familiar with each other. These two teams have met twice a year for as long as anyone can remember. This time it is win or go home. The sub-section playoffs started with both of these teams defeating their first round opponents with easy. Rush City defeated Mora 65-33 and Pine City beat Foley 54-43.
The Tigers are trying to get back to the section championship game where they fell one game short of a State Tournament berth last year. Pine City is trying improve off of last year's season where they fell the sub-section semi-final to St. Cloud Cathedral.
Rush City got the better of Pine City twice this season, but the Dragons are hoping to put together their best game of the season when they meet Saturday night at Sauk Rapids-Rice High School.
Tip-off is at 7:00 and the game can be heard on 100.9 FM
