The Hinckley-Finlayson took some time to celebrate a sub-section championship win on Monday night. But the celebration does not last long as the season is not over for the Jaguars. They now turn their focus to the section championship game this Friday.
Hinckley-Finlayson started off slow on Monday night trailing Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 15-4 to start the game. The Jaguars from Hinckley fought back hard towards the end of the first half tying the game at 29.
The second half saw Hinckley-Finlayson with the advantage pulling away late and picking up the victory 72-54.
The Jaguars will now take on the winners from Section 5A North, Cromwell-Wright. The Cardinals are 23-6 on the season and defeated Nevis 55-50 in their Sub-Section Championship game.
The Section Championship game will take place this Friday night at 7:00 at Crosby-Ironton high school and can be heard on 100.9 FM.
