Pine County Attorney Frederickson to Run for Re-Election

Current Pine County Attorney Reese Frederickson announced on Tuesday morning that he'll run for re-election this fall.

The announcement came as part of Frederickson's monthly appearance on the WCMP 100.9 Cool Country Morning Show with Joshua Miron.

"I'm here for the victims. I'm here for the people of Pine County. Some of what we do is aggressive and might ruffle some feathers but at the end of the day I represent the people of Pine County."

Frederickson said it's been a privilege to serve his county.

"I am planning on seeking another term as Pine County Attorney and it's really because of that idea and the privilege that I have had in representing the people of this county."

In his time as county attorney, Frederickson has obtained numerous convictions in jury trials, including homicides. Most famously, he spearheaded the effort to extradite and convict cult leader Victor Barnard back in 2016. Frederickson and the case were followed nationally during the trial and even featured on ABC's 20/20.
