Patrick James Root has plead guilty to second-degree murder for the death of 22-year-old Timothy Hughes.
Root shot Hughes four times, once in the front and three times in the back, in the Terrace Mobile Home Park in Pine City in August of 2017.
The guilty plea was entered on February 22 in a Pine County Court, and Root will spend 367 months or just over 30 years in prison as part of his plea agreement.
A sentencing hearing for Root is set for April 3, 2019, at the Pine County Court House.
