Burnett Co. Bans Power Loading at Boat Landings

The Burnett County Board passed a resolution banning power loading of watercraft at boat landings during their regular meeting.

According to the resolution, Power loading is defined as the practice of putting on, or taking off, from a trailer, carriage, or device, a watercraft while under motor power, whether by main, auxiliary, or trolling power devices.

The measure was passed at the request of the Burnett County Lakes and Rivers Association, who wrote to the board and said the erosion and damage caused by power loading generate unnecessary and costly maintenance to county boat landings.

Any violation could result in a citation starting at $25 for a first offense and continuing to $250.
