Three Pine County lakes are scheduled for fisheries management plan updates in 2025, and the Minnesota DNR is seeking public input before March 31.
According to the DNR, those lakes are Sand Lake in Moose Lake Township, Tamarack Lake near Duxbury, and Upper Pine Lake in Pine Lake Township.
“We want to hear from anyone interested in these fisheries,” said Shannon Fisher, DNR fisheries populations and regulations manager, in a news release. “Comments about experiences, observations, concerns and wishes for the fishery — rather than suggestions on how the DNR might accomplish a specific goal or objective — are the most helpful kinds of input.”
Baxter Lake, Francis Lake, Little Stanchfield, and South Stanchfield in Isanti County will also see their management plans updated in 2025.
Comments on the future management of those lakes can be shared with Hinckley area fisheries supervisor Matt Ward prior to the deadline.
The DNR also encourages representatives of lake associations, outdoors groups, conservations organizations and local units of government to comment.
