East Central played St. Johns Prep Saturday at Braham High School.
East Central came into this game after a thrilling overtime victory just two days before. The Eagles were able to control the 1st half and play their type of game. It was a low scoring, close 1st half. East Central didn’t have to score a lot of points as their defense stood strong throughout the 1st half. East Central was able to go into halftime with a 26-23 lead. Going into the 2nd half, it was much of the same. East Central controlled the game and the pace of it. The Eagles defense held the Johnnies to 22 2nd half points. East Central's offense caught fire and were able to hold their 1st half lead throughout the entire 2nd half. The Eagles grabbed the win 55-45. The Eagles were lead by Wesley Watrin with 18. He was followed by Tyler Thorvig 12, Kai Petite 11, and Dex Letexier with 10.
East Central will play against Hinckley-Finlayson on Wednesday night in the Section 5A Semifinals. Location TBD
